Zaur is an UnderWorld Warrior originally created by Mommark.

Character Origins

As was the case with many of his experiments, Mommark lost control of Zaur, who ultimately escaped into the UnderWorld as a result, taking up residence within Fear Valley.

When the Danians begin extending their territory into unoccupied parts of the UnderWorld, creating the Nest of the Ancestors, Chaor launches an attack, sending an army of UnderWorlders, including Zaur, Lyssta, Nivenna, Solvis, Ragetrod, Cyrenox, Strikto, Klasp, Grook, and Klesh.

Appearance

Zaur is a huge and fierce Creature, with a volatile temper. The jagged hard shell on Zaur's back offers great protection, and his long tail - ending in a spiked, rock hard knot - serves as a super sized weapon.

Background Information

Zaur is another one of Mommark’s mixed-up creations. Mommark took a huge fossilized skeleton and created Zaur using mysterious Mugical Energy. Unfortunately, this is another one of Mommark’s experiments that didn’t go precisely as planned. Zaur broke loose and fled into the UnderWorld. He mostly wanders the UnderWorld caverns, though he’s often seen roaming Fear Valley. He’s a Creature of great Courage and Power, but he’s ruled by his animal instincts.

Special Abilities

In combat, Zaur relies on brute force and Courage rather than on advanced strategies and Elemental mastery. He’s also learned to use a bit of Mugic.

Strategies

With middling Disciplines, no abilities and comparatively lackluster Energy, Zaur is a fairly poor choice for a Creature in any deck, even with a Mugic counter. Creatures like Anarkiar, Kaal, Brimflame, Galmedar, and Lyssta outclass it entirely.

Release and Promotion

A copy of Zaur is included in the Dawn of Perim UnderWorld starter deck.

Zaur cannot be obtained from Dawn of Perim booster packs.
